Giles Abrey has organized a tour of the Postal Museum in London, 15-20 Phoenix Place WC1X 0DA. The Postal Museum reveals five centuries of British social and communications history through the eyes of its iconic postal service. Alongside permanent exhibition galleries and a temporary exhibition space, Mail Rail, (London’s secret Post Office Underground Railway), has opened to the public for the first time in its 100 year history. Our tour includes a subterranean ride through some of the original tunnels.
9-9.30am – Union Tavern (Tea/Coffee/Pastries)
9.55am – Depart for the Mail Museum (5 min walk)
10am – Arrive Mail Museum (receive wrist bands)
10.15am – Board Mail Train
11.15am- Mail Museum Tour (approx. 45min) (Main Building)
10.35am – Board Mail Train
11.30am – Mail Museum Tour (approx. 45min) (Main Building)
(Giles will allocate groups that morning)
13.00pm Lunch (Union Tavern)
