| 13/12/2009 | The December newsletterThe December newsletter was posted on Saturday 12th December, so you should receive it soon. If not, give me a ring 01944738281 | | 10/10/2009 | The AGMThis meeting, attended by about 50 members, heralded a change to the committee as John Golden (our Chairman) and Mike Cuttell (our Events Secretary), stood down from the helm after a combined service record of 55 years as committee members. John has been the Chairman for 10 years and Mike had been arranging events for around 5 years.
They will both be missed, but as John says, younger blood has to come forward to keep the FFA going forward and into the future.
Apart from this major change, nothing else was remarkable about the AGM itself.
The Chairman gave a report on David Keene's progress after ending up paralised following a fall from a ladder. He is expected to be out of hospital before Christmas and hopes to be flying again asap, but possibly in a high wing to ease entry. He will shortly be allowed out at weekends and welcomes members to fly into his strip to say hello. (With prior permission of course!)
Bill Burton updated us on Edward Long, one of our Founder Members who is unfortunately not enjoying the best of health and is in a wheelchair. Werner Brombacher who has entertained us on foreign visits is also unlikely to attend any more, but he would welcome anyone who cares to visit him at Bloomberg or Friedrichshafen.
There were 2 speakers from Fisher German filling our heads with lots of alarming facts and figures about renewable energy.
The promised rain held off long enough for us to depart in good weather and hopefully all arrived home safely. | | 30/09/2009 | AGM - October 9th - SywellPlease contact Mike Cuttell to enrol for the 2009 AGM to be held at Sywell on October 9th. There will be 2 excellent speakers. |
